Radical Prostatectomy
Radical Prostatectomy
Radical prostatectomy is minimally invasive surgery done using surgical equipment to remove entire prostate. The robotic and laparoscopic technique allows surgeon to operate through small ports excluding large incisions, results in shorter recovery times.
Robotic surgery provides 3D view and precise direction that allows nerve sparing. The 3-D view magnifies the view up to 15 times and improves the visibility to surgeon to recognise and control small blood vessels, and reduce the blood loss. Robotic arms remain steady and wrists make easy for surgeon to manipulate the tissue.
People having prostate cancer are recommended for robotic surgery. Typically, this treatment is recommended when prostate cancer is in stage T1 or T2.
